PURPOSE:To obtain developed color images having different light absorptions, by applying different kinds of thermal energy to two color forming layers. CONSTITUTION:A first color forming layer provided on a base forms a color upon application of lower energy thereto, and undergoes decoloration upon application of higher energy thereto. A second color forming layer does not form a color upon application of the lower energy thereto, but forms a color upon application of the higher energy thereto. One of the color forming layers has little absorption at wavelengths of at least 700nm but has absorption at wavelengths of not more than 700nm, whereas the other has adsorption at wavelengths of at least 700nm but has little absorption at wavelengths of not more than 700nm. This two-stage color forming type thermal recording material enables control of reading by any of various numerical system readers and can be efficiently used in a factory production line system or the like, by utilizing the different light absorption wavelengths of developed color images. |
