A backlight unit is disclosed. The backlight unit comprises: a substrate; a light source arranged on an upper surface of the substrate; and a collimator of a bar type formed on an upper surface of the substrate and configured to collect light, emitted from the light source, in one direction. The collimator comprises a light emitting surface which is curved in a direction in which the light source is formed so that the light, emitted from the light source, is collected and emitted in one direction. Therefore, the backlight unit can realize a thin display device. |
