The present invention relates to an injection molding machine which allows operation of a normal toggle link without pushing a driving mold plate backwardly during the operation in an injection compression mode in an injection molding machine provided with a toggle type shaping device, and a method for controlling the same. The injection molding machine according to the present invention comprises: a fixed mold plate to which fixed mold is mounted; a driving mold plate opposite to the fixed mold plate, receiving a driving mold opposite to the fixed mold and driven by a toggle system; a metallic member disposed on at least one side of the fixed mold plate; an electromagnet mounted to at least one side of the driving mold plate in opposite to the metallic member; and a controlling device for controlling the toggle system so that a predetermined gap between the driving mold plate and the fixed mold plate is maintained by turning-on the electromagnet upon the formation of the gap when carrying out an injection compression mode by moving the driving mold plate toward the fixed mold plate. |
