PURPOSE:To obtain an optimum image by connecting an information reading means provided in the position opposite to a code recording part on a cylindrical end face of a photosensitive drum to a control means and applying the output of the control means to a charge potential regulator and/or exposure regulator. CONSTITUTION:A code is recorded in the information recording part provided to the cylindrical end face of the photosensitive drum 8. The information reading means 12 for reading the code in the information recording part is provided to the position opposite to the information recording part. A microcomputer 10 as the control means discriminates the code read by the information reading means 12 and regulates the charge potential regulator 9 in such a manner that an electrostatic charger 1 applies the optimum charge potential determined by said code to the photosensitive drum 8 if the drum is applicable. The microcomputer 10 regulates the exposure regulator 11 so that an exposing lamp 13 applies the optimum exposure determined by said code to the photosensitive drum 8.
