PURPOSE:To measure exactly the length of a drawn wire rod without slip error by interlocking the drawn wire via a finishing pot to a length measuring wheel and counting the revolutions of the wheel. CONSTITUTION:A wire rod 20 from a die 12 is wound by multiple turns on a finishing pot 30 in a way as not to slip and is taken up on a take-up bobbin 40. One turn of the pot 30 is interlocked to a length measuring wheel 52 and the revolutions of the wheel 52 are detected by a detecting body 58 and a proximity switch 60, by which the length of the wire is calculated. The calculated value is multiplied by the correction value according to the diameter of the wire and the exact length of the wire is known. Since the contact length between the wheel 52 and the wire rod 20 is long, there is no slip and the measured value is exact. |
