The present invention discloses a system for molding a plate glass which is capable of molding the plate glass into a plate glass molded part by using deformation by its weight after the plate glass is heated with a flame to be softened, and a method thereof. A molding system of the present invention provides a system for molding a plate glass. The system for molding a plate glass according to the present invention includes a preheating furnace, a burner, a mold and a slow cooling furnace. The preheating furnace is installed to a loading station for loading the plate glass to preheat the plate glass. The burner is installed to a working station following the loading station and heats the plate glass, which is introduced into the working station after passing through the preheating furnace, such that the plate glass is softened. The mold is installed to an unloading station following the working station such that the soft plate glass output from the working station is deformed by the weight thereof to be formed by a plate glass molding part. The slow cooling furnace slowly cools the plate glass while the mold is unloaded. According to the forming method of the present invention a plate glass is preheated and heated with a flame of the burner to be softened. The soft plate glass is placed on the mold to mold the soft plate glass by its weight into a plate glass molded part and the plate glass molded part is slowly cooled while being unloaded. According to the present invention, after the plate glass is heated with a flame to be softened, the plate glassed is formed into a plate glass molded part by using the deformation of the plate glass placed on the mold by its weight, so that the sequential processes of preheating, softening, forming and cooling a plate glass may be automatically and effectively performed, thereby reducing the manufacturing cost. |
