According to the present invention, a coastal current measurement device for wave breaking areas through image processing capable of calculating the velocity field of a wave breaking zone includes: a recording unit which records the coastline for a certain period of time and generates a plurality of time-sequential images; a geometric correction unit which geometrically corrects each of the image frames using the actual geographical coordinates; an invariant feature extraction unit which extracts the area of a wave breaker foam using the scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT) technique from each of the geometrically-corrected image frames; and a velocity field calculation unit which calculates the velocity field according to the movement of the area of the wave breaker foam extracted from each of the image frames. |
