PURPOSE:To obtain a device having an excellent dynamic characteristic by constituting a load spring of a supporting device with a shell structure to enhance the stiffness of the floating head supporting device and to raise the natural frequency of this device. CONSTITUTION:A load spring 3a of the supporting device which supports a floating head of a magnetic disc device has a three-dimensional curved surface of the shell structure. Though the section of the shell structure occupies most of the whole of the load spring 3a, the shell structure is set smoothly in the part from a point P to a point Q and the part from a point R, where a gimbals spring 3b is connected to the load spring 3a, to a point S where a floating head 3c is connected to the gimbals spring 3b. Points R and P indicating the transition from the shell structure to a plane structure are set to optimum positions in consideration of the shape and the curvature of the shell structure, they are set in consideration of respective points of the width, the shape, etc. and of a flange also if the flange is provided. |
