PURPOSE:To prevent creep by providing a braking retaining means by means of a solenoid valve midway in a brake piping from a master cylinder, and controlling said solenoid valve based on the detected values of the stepping quantities of brake and accelerator pedals, the position of a selector lever, and an engine speed. CONSTITUTION:The output shaft 1d of a fluid torque converter 1 is connected to a transmission 2 to carry out the device of wheels 3. A fluid pressure is generated in a brake piping due to the operation of a master cylinder 5 by means of the operation of a brake pedal 6, to carry out a braking action by means of wheel cylinders 3a. A braking force retaining device 4 consisting of a solenoid valve 4a and a check valve 4b is provided midway in a brake piping to carry out the retention and release of braking force by controlling the solenoid valve 4a by an electronic control device 10 based on the input of the operation of brake and accelerator pedals 6, 7, a selector valve position 8, an engine speed 9, and a vehicle speed sensor 2a. Thereby, the creep phenomenon of an automatic vehicle can be securely prevented.
