<p>PURPOSE:To safely and easily produce the titled compound useful as a raw material for agricultural chemicals, pharmaceuticals and other chemicals, under mild condition, by reacting an amine with carbon disulfide in the presence of a specific low-toxic reaction accelerator. CONSTITUTION:An amine (e.g. methylamine) is made to react with 2 times equivalent of carbon disulfide in the presence of 1,8-diazabicyclo[5,4,0]undec-7- ene. The reaction is carried out in the absence of solvent or, if necessary, in a solvent such as benzene at -50-+80 deg.C for 5 min-15 hr, preferably at 0-50 deg.C for 0.5-10 hr. The amount of the reaction accelerator is 1.5-5 mol per 1 mol of the amine. The yield of the product can be improved by carrying out the reaction of amine with carbon disulfide in the presence of an alkyl halide.</p> |
