SYSTEM FOR MONITORING CONTAMINATION CORONA OF TRANSMISSION LINE

PURPOSE:To collectively monitor contamination corona generated from the insulator of a transmission line steel tower, by detecting the leak current flowing to the surface of the insulator and the radio noise wave generated at the time of corona discharge and transmitting both of them to a control area by an optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:The current sensor 6 provided to the cap part of the insulator 2 on the side of the steel tower of a transmission line detects the leak current flowing to the surface of the insulator 2. The radio wave sensor 7 mounted to the steel tower 1 detects the radio noise wave generated from the insulator 2 at the time of corona discharge. The measured values detected by the current sensors 6 and the radio wave sensor 7 are transmitted to a control area 4 by an overhead earth wire optical fiber cable 5. In the control area 4, corona light emitting frequency is operated on the basis of a relational expression between the leak current and corona generation frequency by an operation apparatus. When the light emitting frequency exceeds a set value, an order for washing the insulator 2 is issued.
