The invention relates to a multi-plate clutch for motorcycles and similar vehicles which is hand-operated. The purpose of the invention is to eliminate the considerable force which is required in the case of conventional friction clutches to release the clutch while achieving simplicity of construction as compared with combined clutches and while achieving the possibility of releasing the clutch at any time manually in contrast to automatic clutches. The essence of the invention consists in that, in addition to the drum with the driving plates, a driver with the driven plates and a pressure plate, the clutch also has a control end with a shaped inner side wall where the weights are supported in a guide cage and which contains a supporting plate. The springs of the pressure plate act on the supporting plate and in this way ensure that the clutch is engaged. As the speed of the engine increases, the force of the compression springs is increased by the rolling of the balls or other weights on the shaped side wall of the control end until the outer stop is reached, the springs of the pressure plate thereby being compressed to the maximum extent. ……
