PURPOSE:To prevent an imbalance of a contrast ratio of the right and left by dividing a polarizing filter and a voltage control polarizing element into two groups, respectively, so that voltage signals whose phases are opposite to each other are supplied to both polarizing elements, and polarizing angles of both polarizing filters are made different from each other. CONSTITUTION:A polarizing filter 11 and a voltage control polarizing element 12 are divided into two groups, voltage signals S1, S2 whose phases are opposite to each other are supplied to one voltage control polarizing element 11A and the other voltage control polarizing element 11B, respectively, and also, each polarizing angle of each polarizing filter 11A, 11B is made different by 90 deg. turning angle of a liquid crystal. First of all, when the signal S1 is in a high level, the signal S2 becomes a low level. In this case, by the filter 11A, an element 12A and a polarizing filter 4R, a negative type liquid crystal is constituted, and also, by the filter 11B, and the polarizing filter 4R, a positive type liquid crystal is constituted. Accordingly, with regard to the filter 4R, a negative type liquid crystal shutter and a positive type liquid crystal shutter are formed simultaneously. When the signal has been inverted, a polarizing filter 4L is also constituted in the same way, and an inbalance of a contrast of the right and left can be prevented. |
