PURPOSE:To obtain an encapsulated toner good in fixability and not causing offset trouble even after successive copying by microencapsulating oil drops of a core material containing a monomer, a polymerization catalyst, and a solvent not dissolving the polymer of said monomer, and a colorant with an outer shell-forming material and polymerizing said monomer. CONSTITUTION:The oil drops of a core material containing a monomer, a polymerization catalyst, and a solvent not dissolving the polymer of said monomer, and a colorant are encapsulated with the outer shell-forming material and the monomer is polymerized to obtain the encapsulated toner. As the monomer, a monofunctional monomer or a polyfunctional monomer or a combination of them can be used. As the solvent not dissolving the polymer, an aliphatic hydrocarbon, such as octane, nonane, or decane, is used, and a monomer to solvent ratio to be used is 90:10-10:90. For the polymerization, a radical polymerization initiator is used in an amount of 0.03-3wt% of the monomer. |
