This apparatus comprises an enclosure 1 entirely filled with a liquid 13, a graduated vertical tube 2 connected through one end with the said enclosure 1 and designed to be connected by its other end to the volume V to be measured, means 6, 17 for manometric measurement of the pressure inside the said enclosure, and means 7, 7a for modifying and adjusting the internal volume of this enclosure. A known quantity DELTA Vo of a neutral gas is introduced into the volume V to be measured, the pressure increase is measured, and the volume V is calculated therefrom by application of Boyle's (Mariotte's) law. <IMAGE>
