Process for producing hard fibreboards

A process is to be provided for producing hard fibreboards, in which, after their production, the hard fibreboards are subjected to an impregnation treatment, by which process it is possible to produce hard fibreboards which are flame resistant and attain fire classification B1 according to DIN 4102. For this purpose, it is provided according to the invention that the hard fibreboards consist of synthetic resin-bonded, pressed wood fibres and are provided with a paraffin emulsion and/or other water repellents and that the boards are impregnated with an aqueous salt solution such that, after subsequent drying, they contain 100 to 300 kg of salt mixture per m<3>.
