The engine has a compressor element 6, a power element 8 and a combustion chamber 13, each element being of generally cylindrical form and eccentrically disposed in a cylindrical chamber surrounded by a liner 9 movable freely between discs 5, 7 or 7, 10. Moreover. each element 6, 8 has a pivotable blade member (Fig. 8A) movable in dependence upon the rotational position of the element so as to sealingly divide the space between the respective element 6, 8 and liner 9 into regions of changing volume. <IMAGE>
