The invention relates to a device for venting (deaerating) viscous compositions by evacuation. It consists of an evacuable lower vessel and upper vessel containing the composition. The separating wall between the two vessels has openings in which needles having externally a longitudinally serrated profile are held. The composition is drawn through these openings formed by the toothing by means of subatmospheric pressure.
