In a system for distributing reference signals in a television studio with digital video signals, in which a composite signal of pulses which establish the television raster is distributed, a sinusoidal signal is additionally distributed which is derived from an oscillator from which, furthermore, the pulses are derived by frequency division and pulse shaping. The frequency of the sinusoidal signal can correspond to the highest scanning frequency forming the basis of the digital video signals or the frequency of the sinusoidal signal can correspond to an integer fraction, preferably one half, of the highest scanning frequency forming the basis of the digital video signals. A sinusoidal colour subcarrier can also be distributed.
