The object of the driving school roof sign is to mark a driving school car so that it is visible a long way off from the front and rear, to give other road users timely warning of the presence of a driving school car, with all the risks which this entails. The driving school roof sign can have a reflective film bonded to it or may also be equipped with a lighting assembly when legal permission for this has been given. The driving school roof sign is characterised in particular by the three securing systems in the mount: firstly by four rubber suckers which cause the sign to adhere to the car roof by means of vacuum-induced suction, secondly by an elastic fastening cable which is hooked into the roof rail on the left and right of the vehicle and by an additional fastening cable on the rear part of the roof sign, which cable is hooked in like the other cable, securing the sign against involuntary separation from the roof. The material used in the roof sign virtually excludes the danger of injury in the event of collisions with pedestrians, cyclists and motor bike drivers. The essential advantages of the new roof sign therefore reside in the fact that the sign is easily visible, in the three securing systems used when the sign is fastened to the roof, in the fact that the sign can be easily and conveniently handled when it is being mounted and dismounted and in the avoidance of injury in the event of accidents involving driving school cars.
