The invention relates to a cleaning device for the sand residues in pattern-core shooting machines which have a tilting bracket which is connected in articulated fashion on one side to a fixed support and, on the said support, on the other side, lies above a vertically adjustable stop and is intended to receive a shooting plate. In order to make a considerable simplification in the overall construction of a known device of this kind and hence bring about a considerable reduction in the manufacturing and maintenance costs, the invention proposes that the tilting bracket be connected in articulated fashion to a support rigidly attached to the machine frame, this fixed support holding in articulated fashion in its central region a downward-pointing pair of levers. The pair of levers is actuated by pins secured correspondingly on the lateral extension of the working table of the shooting machine, with the result that the swivelling movement of the tilting bracket required to remove the sand residues is achieved directly by the normal vertical stroke motion of the working table.
