PURPOSE:To establish steering stability both at the time of straight forward running and turning for a vehicle by adjusting the roll rigidity ratio of front to rear for controlling steering characteristics to the under-steering side when the vehicle has reached a predetermined range set with the steering angle and the speed thereof. CONSTITUTION:The steering angle and the speed of a vehicle M1 are detected respectively by detecting means M2 and M3. And when the results of the detection have reached a predetermined range set up with the steering angle and the speed, a control means M5 controls a roll rigidity ratio change means M4. In other words, when the vehicle M1 has turned into a straight forward running condition at a relatively high speed, the roll rigidity ratio of front to rear for the vehicle M1 is adjusted and steering characteristics are controlled to the under-steering side. According to the aforesaid constitution, the steering characteristics in straight forward running are shifted and set to the under- steering side without any adverse effect upon the steering characteristics of the vehicle M1 in turning. Therefore, steering stability can be maintained concurrently at the time of the turning and the straight forward running of the vehicle M1. |
