PURPOSE:To improve the rocessing speed of an image processing device, by calculating the number of black picture elements in a prescribed area of an original by using changing point address expression. CONSTITUTION:Black and white binary signals of an inputted original are converted into changing point address at an input scanning line data generator 19 and the area of inputted scanning lines is set to black and converted into changing point addresses at a referring scanning line data generator 20. The changing point addresses of both scanning lines are compared with each other and classified into either of classification patterns W1-W3 or B1-B3 of a prescribed number at a classification decider 28. The number of black picture elements of each specified area of the inputted scanning lines is operated at an arithmetic device 26 in accordance with the classification patterns and stored in a storage device 27. When the number of black picture elements of each area is more than a prescribed number at the time when all the scanning lines are scanned, the number of data to be processed can be reduced by deciding that the area with black picture elements of more than the prescribed number is painted out with black. |
