PURPOSE:To enhance catalytic activity and abrasion resistance, by forming a catalyst by granulating a composition obtained by compounding 10-55wt% of Cu, Zn and Zr compounds, 45-90wt% of water and 0.01-1wt% of ammonia. CONSTITUTION:A solid component comprising 10-55wt% of Cu, Zn and Zr compounds and further containing a boron compound if necessary, 45-90wt% of water and 0.01-1wt% of ammonia are commounded to prepare a composition. This composition is granulated by a means such as a spray drying method or a method for dripping said composition in oil to prepare a fluidized catalyst for synthesizing methanol. In the pref. compositional ratio in a three-component composition, the Cu-component is 10-67wt%, the Zn-component is 1.5-47wt% and the Zr-component is 30-70wt%. The granulated composition is used as it is or after baking but baking is general and performed at 300-500 deg.C in an oxygen-containing atmosphere. |
