PURPOSE:To provide a recording medium which shows practical absorption at a wavelength of about 830 nm even in the case of a recording layer consisting of a layer containing hexadecafluorophthalocyaninezinc and does not require an expensive device for heating, by composing the recording layer of a layer containing hexadecafluorophthalocyaninezinc and heat-treated. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer is a layer containing hexadecafluoro- phthalocyaninezinc and heat-treated. The heat treatment is preferably so performed that the maximum absorption wavelength in the absorption spectrum of the recording layer becomes at least 800 nm. The thickness of the recording layer is varied according to the magnitude of a light output from a semiconduc tor layer, recording sensitivity or contrast required of a recording medium or the like, and, in general, is preferably about 100-50000 Angstrom . As a material or a base, those conventionally used, such as glasses and resins, e.g., polycarbonates, can be used. |
