The system picks up the nearest figure for a three-dimensional figure display, by comparing the depth values of the figures. The process comprises generating straight lines that fill the plane of a figure (a) and generating picture elements on the straight lines (b), for which the depth values are compared. For a given triangle (x1,y1), (x2,y2), (x3,y3), straight lines (x-k1h,y-h), (x-k2h,y-h) are generated at a pitch of N(52), which is determined by an increment delta y (53). Then picture elements (x,y) are generated at a pitch of M(56), determined by an increment delta z. Therefore, the amount of data for depth-value comparison is reduced by 1/NM. |
