PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide antibacterial protein kinase inhibitors.SOLUTION: Methods of treating bacterial infection in a subject by administering a pharmaceutical composition including a celecoxib derivative are described. The compounds are particularly useful for treating infection by bacteria capable of growing inside macrophages, such as Myocobacteria tuberculosis. In some embodiments, the bacterial infection is infection by bacteria capable of growing inside a macrophage. In another embodiment, the bacteria are of the genus mycobacterium. The method can also be useful for treating multidrug resistant tuberculosis.SELECTED DRAWING: None
