PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption in an optical repeater, by stopping power supplying to a monitor signal branching/inserting circuit, and outputting a reception signal as it is to an optical transmission circuit, when the drop of a battery voltage is generated after switching to a backup battery. CONSTITUTION:A power source switch circuit 5 supplies a power source 8 to the monitor signal branching/inserting circuit 4 ordinarily, but when a monitor signal 7 shows the drop of the battery voltage after the power is switched to the backup battery due to the disconnection of the power source, the circuit 5 interrupts the supplying of the power source 8. A signal switching circuit 2 outputs a signal from an optical reception circuit 1 to the monitor signal branching/inserting circuit 4 ordinarily, and the signal is outputted afterwards from the monitor signal branching/inserting circuit 4, and the signal on which monitor signals 6 and 7 are superposed, is outputted to an optical transmission circuit 3, but, when the monitor signal 7 shows the drop of the battery voltage, the circuit 2 outputs the signal from the optical reception circuit 1 as it is to the optical transmission circuit 3. |
