A clutch device is described for motorised vehicles, the starting and gear-changing clutch 4 of which can be disengaged using the operating force of the clutch pedal 4 and a force controlled by the clutch pedal, and whose friction elements are raised from one another with an air gap when the clutch pedal 22 is completely depressed. In order to design the engagement of the clutch 4, i.e. the metering of the torque when the clutch 4 is engaged, such that it provides a finer sense of feeling, the device is designed such that the complete operating movement of the clutch pedal 22 when depressed leads merely to relief of the pressing force of the clutch 4 and the clutch 4 is raised with the aid of the force controlled by the clutch pedal.
