The ball detector for detecting the limit value of an acceleration or a deceleration of motor vehicles is intended to energize an automatic device which switches on the distress lights in the case of a shock or turning over, total or partial, transitory or permanent, which may occur at a reduced speed and without shock. The ball detector is comprised essentially of an electrically conducting body (1) having at its centre a truncated recess (5) extended downwardly by a well (2) of adjustable depth wherein a metal ball (4) is housed, a cover (6) separated from the conductor body (1) by means of an insulating washer (7) and a circuit comprising a contactor relay (8) whose energization is controlled by the contact of the metal ball (4) with the cover (6) and whose de-energization is obtained by actuation of a normally-closed push-button (9). Applications: distress lights of motor vehicles. |
