PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a solid electrolyte material capable of producing a solid electrolyte layer or a fuel electrode layer of a solid oxide fuel cell which suppresses a change in a crystal phase or a deterioration in oxygen ion conductivity even if exposed under hydrothermal degradation environments; a solid electrolyte membrane and a fuel electrode membrane produced using the solid electrolyte material; and a single cell for a solid oxide fuel cell containing the solid electrolyte membrane and/or the fuel electrode membrane.SOLUTION: There is provided a solid electrolyte material which comprises zirconia containing 8 mol% or more and 12 mol% or less of scandia and 1.1 mol% or more and 1.45 mol% or less of ceria.SELECTED DRAWING: None
