摘要 PURPOSE:To secure a highly accurate combined body without entailing any damage to a cam block as well as to improve the promotion of lightweightiness and abrasion resistance, by engaging the cam block, consisting of a hard sintered alloy and installing at least more than one piece of ring grooves in the inner diameter, with the shaft installed in a ring projection surface in the outer diameter. CONSTITUTION:In order to improve squareness and connecting position accuracy after connection between a cam block 2 and a shaft 1, such connection that is made by small deformation with less load is expedient. Therefore, the cam block 2 (knutling 2c is cut in the central part of a groove bottom of a ring groove 2b) consisting of a hard sintered material installing at least more than one piece of this ring groove 2b is fitted in an inner circumference of the ring projection surface 1a installed in an outer diameter of the shaft 1. And, a part of the ring projection surface 1a is locally plasticly deformed to the ring groove 2b of the cam block 2, thereby manufacturing a camshaft. With this constitution, improvement in accuracy of the cam shaft and prevention of any damage to the cam block 2 are effectuated. Accordingly, the camshaft comes to such one that is lighter in weight and excellent in abrasion resistance of the cam block 2.
