PURPOSE:To obtain a silver halide photosensitive material small in color mixing and superior in resolution by forming a green-sensitive emulsion layer having a spectral sensitivity peak in a 500-530nm wavelength region, and incorporating flat silver halide grains having an average aspect ratio of >=5 in at least one of red-sensitive, green-sensitive, and blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers. CONSTITUTION:The green-sensitive emulsion layer has the peak of spectral sensitivity in 500-530mum wavelengths, and at least one of the red-sensitive, green-sensitive, and blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers contains the flat silver halide grains having an average aspect ratio of >=5. The silver halide grains except said flat grains may be ones each having regular crystal forms, such as cubic, octahedral, and tetradecahedral crystal forms, i.e., so-called regu lar grains, and irregular crystal forms, such as spherical ones, or ones having crystal defects, such as twin crystals, or one of their combinations, or mixtures of any of them, thus permitting the sensitivity of the green-sensitive emulsion layer to argon laser beams to be higher enough as compared with that of the blue-sensitive emulsion layer, and consequently, a remarkable color mixing prevention effect to be obtained. |
