摘要 PURPOSE:To considerably extend the life of a resistance electrode by coating the surface of said electrode with an alloy having a specific component compsn. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a Cr-Cu alloy or aluminum-dispersed copper to be used for the resistance electrode for welding galvanized steel sheets is coated with a Co-base alloy or Cr-base alloy contg. 1% and 5%, P, B or W to about 20mu thickness. A chemical plating composite diffusion penetration method or the like is used for the coating. The electrode life is considerably extended by coating the electrode with the alloy which hardly alloys with Zn in the above-mentioned manner; for example, the electrode coated with the Co-base alloy contg. 1% P, B or W exhibits the durability longer by 1.5 times the life of the non-coated electrode and the electrode coated with the Co- or Cr-base alloy contg. 5% P, B or W exhibits the 5-26 times higher durability.
