PURPOSE:To completely automate the smooth focusing operation from a macro image pickup area to a normal image pickup area when image pickup is performed by using a zoom lens as the image pickup lens, by leading part of the rays of light from an object to focus detecting section by means of a prism, total-reflection mirror, and focus detecting lens. CONSTITUTION:Rays of light from an object are caused to form an image in an image forming section 56 through the lens section 1 for focusing, lens section 2 for zooming, compensator lens 20, prism 3, and master 4 of this device. Outputs of the image forming section 56 are outputted from a video processing circuit 55 as ordinary video signals. Moreover, part of the rays of light from the object are turned perpendicularly at the prism 3 and a total reflection mirror 5 and led to a focus detecting section 7 through a relay lens 6, where information related to the object is fetched as electric charges. The electric charges are supplied to a focus detecting and operating circuit 50 and control signals are supplied to a zoom lens driving circuit 52 and focus driving circuit 53 from a control circuit 51 in accordance with detecting signal from a short distance movement arrival detecting means 54, and thus, photographing operations are completely automated. |
