<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the damage, etc., of a tape by providing plural elements for detecting a position to detect the position of a tension pin and providing a tension controller to control a tape tension so as to be respective set values based upon a detecting signal from these elements. CONSTITUTION:As first and second elements 10 and 11 for detecting a position, an Hall element having a Hall effect is used. As the time of the forward direction feeding and the fast forward of the high speed retrieval releasing a pinch roller 14 from a magnetic tape 16, a tension pin 6 is detected by the first Hall element 10 and the tape tension corresponding to it is detected. When the tape tension detected by the first Hall element 10 is larger than the set value, the rotation load of a supplying reel 1 is decreased, and when the detected tape tension is smaller than the set value, the rotation load of the supplying reel 1 is increased. and the tape tension is controlled so as to be the set value. Thus, the always stable signal reproduction can be executed and the damage of the magnetic tape can be prevented.</p> |
