PURPOSE:To provide a thermal transfer recording medium capable of performing metal gloss printing having desired hue, by successively providing a heat- meltable release layer, a vapor deposition anchor layer, a metal vapor deposition layer and a heat-meltable adhesive layer to one surface of a base material. CONSTITUTION:A release layer 2, a vapor deposition anchor layer 3, a metal vapor deposition layer 4 and an adhesive layer 5 are successively provided on a base material 1. Constitution providing a protective layer 6 for preventing sticking may be employed. The vapor deposition anchor layer 3 achieves the function as the adhesive layer of the release layer and the metal vapor deposition layer. Further, by forming the vapor deposition anchor layer as a transparent colored layer, color imaging imparting a free color can be easily achieved. When printing is preliminarily applied by this inventive metal gloss thermal transfer recording medium and a general three primary colors thermal transfer ribbon is superposed from above to perform transfer, a metal gloss color of a free color can be reproduced. |
