PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery which is prevented from swelling by preventing generation of gas in the battery.SOLUTION: The lithium ion secondary battery has a positive electrode active material, obtained from particles containing a positive electrode material capable of occluding and releasing lithium ions, a silane coupling agent which can be coupled with the positive electrode material, and a polymer compound which can be coupled with the silane coupling agent. Since the surface of the positive electrode material, where a reactive material exists, is coated with the silane coupling agent and the polymer compound in the lithium ion secondary battery, generation of gas due to decomposition of electrolyte caused by the reactive material is suppressed. |
