PURPOSE:To increase the rate of machining tact and obtain a highly accurate machined surface by forming the captioned device with a hydraulic expanding mechanism and a mechanical expanding mechanism and connected a lifting shaft to the expanding shaft of a hone head in a cylindrical piston so as to freely carry out the vertical movement of said cylindrical piston and the rotation of said expanding shaft. CONSTITUTION:A hydraulic pressure is fed to a cylinder 8 and a cylindrical piston 9 is lowered expanding a grinding wheel 5 to grind the inner peripheral face of a workpiece by the rotation of a hone head 4 and the vertical movement of a driving face 1. In this case, the wheel 5 carries out grinding on both of its up and down movements because of the expansion due to the always applied hydraulic pressure, thereby, increasing the rate of machining tact. Then, after carrying out grinding by means of the hydraulic pressure by a set period of time, hydraulic pressure is fed to a lock chamber 12 fixing the cylindrical piston 9 to the cylinder 8 and, then, a motor M2 is rotated by a defined angle for each up and down movement of the hone head 4, lowering cones 16 and intermittently expanding the wheel 5, to grind the inner face of the workpiece. Accordingly, the rate of machining tact can be increased, obtaining a finishing face with excellent oil retaining effect and enabling a highly accurate bore machining. |
