PURPOSE:To prevent a hunting phenomenon from occurring and make drivability so as not to be damaged, by performing the timing advance correction by he specified value at the specified ignition number when shifting to a knocking control needless driving area having a timing delay correction quantity. CONSTITUTION:The control value table stored in a memory 36c is retrieved on the basis of each output of a crank angle sensor 20 and a negative pressure sensor 28 and thereby fundamental ignition timing is operated at a control unit 36. Next, whether it is in a knocking control useless driving area or not is judged on the basis of engine speed or the like. And, when it is so judged that it is in the knocking useless driving area, the elapse of the specified stand-by ignition number is judged, and if the elapse is the case, a minimal timing advance correction value is added to the knocking correction value. Finally the knocking correction value is added to the fundamental ignition timing and the ignition timing is operated. Thus, at the time of timing advance correction, compensation is not carried out but at the specified ignition number, while a timing delay quantity is compensated by the minimal timing advance correction value at a time, not correcting it at one time, so that a hunting phenomenon such as a torque variation or the like is in no case entailed there. |
