PURPOSE:To correctly detect molded items remaining in an open mold by a method wherein a plurality of pairs of light emitting elements and light receiving elements and a control device, which memorizes and judges the output states of said pairs, are combined with one another. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of pairs of light emitting elements 141-14n and light receiving elements 151-15n are provided on both sides of a fixed mold 10 and a movable mold 11. In addition, the output states of a plurality of light receiving elements 151-15n with no molded items before molding present in the fixed mold 10 and the movable mold 11 are memorized. After molding, the output states of a plurality of the light receiving elements 151-15n after the opening of a mold are compared with the output states of a plurality of the light receiving elements 151-15n before molding. Only when both the output states coincide with each other, the judgement signal representing no residual molded item is outputted so as to perform mold clamping. If both the output states do not coincide with each other, the action to eject a residual molded item W from the mold is instructed from a molder control device 4. Thus, the presence and absence of residual molded item in the mold is surely discriminated at all times, resulting in preventing troubles such as the breakage of the mold and the like from occurring. |
