PURPOSE:To make it possible to sustain the maximum stroke of a piston until the characteristic of cooling for the passenger's compartment of a vehicle reaches a predetermined value, by providing an actuator adapted to hold a control valve for open and close control of communication between a crank chamber and a suction chamber, in an open condition. CONSTITUTION:In an oscillating type compressor in which the inclined angle of a swash plate is changed by adjusting the pressure of a crank chamber 29 to change the compression ratio of coolant, there are provided a control valve mechanism 35 comprising a valve 353 for open and close control of communication between a crank chamber 29 and a suction chamber 33 and bellows 352 for controlling the opening and closing of the valve 353, and a solenoid actuator 38 for forcibly holding the valve in an open condition irrespective of the operation of the bellows 352. When the solenoid actuator 38 is held in its energized condition, a shaft 383 holds the valve 353 in the control valve mechanism 35 in the open condition. With this arrangement, the maximum stroke of a piston 28 may be maintained until a predetermined cooling characteristic is obtained, thereby it is possible to enhance the cool-down characteristic. |
