摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce reactive power on the input electric power source side of the motor by a method wherein a power rectifier and a power inverter are enabled to operate at the same time, and moreover reactive power generated by the operation of the power rectifier is made as to be off-set by reactive power generated by the operation of the power inverter. CONSTITUTION:When electric power is supplied by the route of the power rectifier 12-a filtering capacitor 13-an inverter 14-the AC motor 15 from the input AC power source 11, a power factor control circuit 20 controls the output voltage of a chopper 18 and the control angle alpha of the power inverter 16 corresponding to largeness of leading reactive power generated by the power rectifier 12. While, when feed back power from the AC motor 15 is to be regenerated to the input AC power source 11 through the power inverter 16, the chopper 18 and the power inverter 16 are controlled as to make the power rectifier 12 also to generate leading reactive power according to the output signal of the power factor control circuit 20.
