A magazine for accommodating pellets for use in an injector includes a barrel comprising a hollow cylindrical compartment with an open front end and an open rear end. The cross-section of the compartment is selected to accommodate a pellet. The cross section of the rear end is smaller than the accommodated pellet so that it cannot be extracted from the rear end of the compartment. The magazine further includes a cover for closing the front end, including a dispensing opening which, in the closed state, is positioned in front of the front end and has a cross-section selected such that the pellet can pass through the dispensing opening. At least one bar projecting into the dispensing opening prevents the pellet from accidentally falling out, and when subjected to a predetermined force, can be bent outwards such that the pellet can be delivered through the dispensing opening. |
