PURPOSE:To remove an organic layer end part without generating damage nor film thickness irregularity at a necessary part by providing a shield member along the boundary between the removed part and unremoved part of the organic layer so that the unremoved part is protected, and removing the removed part in the presence of removing liquid. CONSTITUTION:The shield plate 6 and a guide 7 are installed in a removing liquid storage tank 5 and a cylindrical electrophotographic sensitive body 8 which has the organic layer is gripped by a gripping device 9; and the lower end of the photosensitive body 8 is guided by the guide 7 and inserted into the center hole of the shield material 6, and the lower end is guided into the removing liquid storage tank 5. The photosensitive body 8 is so held that the boundary line between the removed and unremoved parts of the organic layer is positioned at the top of the shield material 6. A removing liquid supply line 11 is led into the removing liquid storage tank 5 and the removing liquid injected from removing liquid injection ports 12 and 13 removes the organic layer at the lower end of the photosensitive body 8 by the removing liquid injection, but is intercepted by the shield material 6, so that no removing liquid is scattered over a necessary organic layer on the photosensitive body 8 and vapor which affects its surface do not cover the surface. |
