The invention relates to a security device making it possible to monitor and limit the use of a lift serving a group of apartments. It consists of a network of subscriber boxes 01 and 03 associated respectively with the apartments, of a scanning device associated with the set to which the subscriber boxes 03 are connected. It furthermore comprises an automatic system for locking and unlocking the lift doors by means of coded keys, which are different at each floor. The unlocking of the lift door of the ground floor takes place, for its part, by means of the key 06 of the box 03 located inside each apartment. In addition, a coded key enables the tenants to activate the lift manually. The device according to the invention is intended to guarantee almost total security inside buildings equipped with lifts. <IMAGE>
