In diesel internal combustion engines with multipoint injection pumps, a common control rod is required for the injection pumps, which rod must be connected to the speed lever of the governor. Making this connection is difficult when the governor is already pre-assembled on the engine housing, for example on the housing cover. In this case assembly is made more difficult by the lack of space. The connection between speed lever (1) and control rod (2) is made easier in that they are connected by a coupling device, which comprises a spring clip (5) or a rotatable coupling part (8). The spring clip (5) grips around a part (7) of the speed lever (1) (Fig. 1), the coupling part (8) makes a positive connection between speed lever (1) and control rod (2) (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
