Assembly apparatus

The assembly apparatus has a conveying system for workpiece carriers on which workpieces are positioned and fitted out and/or machined at work stations. The assembly apparatus has independent work station units on which separate conveyors for the workpiece carriers can be provided, the workpieces being optionally processable both on the front and on the rear longitudinal conveyor. Each of the work station units has a switch cabinet in which the control devices for the conveyors are provided. In addition, each work station unit has easily coupled connections for the supply and control lines to allow connection in series and interlinking with further work station modules.
