An electrical displacement sensor (10) with an oscillator (11) for supplying the displacement sensor with a radio-frequency oscillation and with a soft magnetic coil constructed as a helical spring (16) is proposed, the axial length of which can be varied in the axial direction against its restoring force as a function of the displacement to be measured or the position of an adjusting member (12). To achieve an easily analysable measurement signal with a frequency in the kilohertz range, the oscillator (11) is connected to a stationary radio-frequency coil (15) which concentrically surrounds a section of the helical spring (16). Due to the radio-frequency magnetic field (23) which is generated in the radio-frequency coil (15) and through which the helical spring (16) passes, a radio-frequency measurement voltage is induced in the helical spring (16), the amplitude of which, as analysable measurement quantity, changes as a function of the axial length of the restoring spring (16). The converse, feeding the oscillator frequency into the helical spring (16) and picking up the measurement signal across the fixed radio-frequency coil (15), is also possible.
