Liquid-carrying, electrically operated apparatus

In a liquid-carrying, electrically operated apparatus with a liquid container (1), a controllable shut-off valve (3) is placed in an inlet pipe (2). Situated below the liquid container (1) and other water-carrying components of the apparatus is a collecting tray (4) for leaking water which arises. A sensor (5), which moves the shut-off valve (3) into the closed state in the presence of leaking liquid, is arranged in the collecting tray (4). To ensure, using a simple protection system, that the shut-off valve (3) is shut off not only at a working level (9) but also if a safety level is exceeded, the control device for evaluating the predetermined filling levels comprises the sensor (5) assigned to the collecting tray (4) and also a level sensor (8) which measures the working level. Furthermore, on the liquid container (1) there is provided a liquid overflow (12) which is assigned to a safety level (14) lying above the working level (9) and opens into the collecting tray (4), so that the sensor (5) at the same time works as a safety-level sensor.
